encourage your child to join circle. If your child does not want to come to circle, help him / her find something quiet to do in our forest room with the door shut or go home; to maintain the desired mood for stories and songs we do not want background noise, please speak to friends during free play and not during circle time
StrongStart
StrongStart is for children from birth to 5 years old who attend with a parent or care giver. There is free play in many different stations in our Explorer Portable. Our staff provide a snack and direct story time and circle time with singing, dance and finger play.
Each session is limited to 20 children. If we are full there will be a sign in the cubbie room. You will be welcome to come another day. If you have a child in each age group you may choose which schedule days to attend.
The schedule from Monday, September 9, 2013 to Tuesday, June 24, 2013 is:
birth to 2 year olds may attend Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays 11:45 am to 2:45 pm
3 to 5 year olds may attend Mondays and Wednesdays 11:45 am to 2:45 pm

StrongStart operates from September to June. It is closed on statutory holidays and when DLG is closed due to teacher professional days and school spring, summer and winter breaks.
StrongStart is a free drop-in program but parents must register. Please bring Canadian government issued identification for your child.

The parent / caregiver role at StrongStart is:

parents / caregivers must be in attendance with their own child at all times. Please come prepared to play, laugh and have fun with your child

parents / caregivers are expected to be an active participant in all activities with their child. Join in his / her play rather than just watch

encourage sharing, taking turns and being kind to one another

encourage your child to put toys away in the correct spot before moving to something else

encourage your child to us an inside voice and walking feet while inside and on the entrance ramp
please keep purses and personal belongings out of reach of children.
